Joy Ainsworth

In 2012, Joy felt a strong desire to leave her career in mortgage banking. She wanted to be a blessing to people in a more practical and personal way.

Feeling led to care for others, she enrolled in nursing school. She had no idea how her calling would play out in her own life. In March of 2014, everything changed when Joy’s father had a stroke that required him to have round-the-clock care.

Wanting the best possible life for her dad, she moved him into her home, so he could experience the love and joy of being cared for in the daily presence of his family. It was a blessing to see his delight in the daily presence of those he loved.

Joy cared for her dad who had expressive aphasia and dementia until June of 2016 when the Lord took him home. Joy learned first-hand through her experience that being a caregiver for an aging parent is a hard task—mentally, physically, and emotionally. The life-altering changes are inconceivable for anyone who has not personally been down that road. For Joy, it was both the hardest ordeal and the greatest blessing of her life.

Her journey with her dad to the end deepened her faith and clarified her calling with the desire to provide both loving, quality care for seniors in need of personal care and companionship, as well as, respite care for those who take care of others. This includes family caregivers and pastoral servants. It is out of personal passion, the recognition of great need, and the Lord’s direction that Faithful Servants Care was born.
